Thousands celebrate graduation milestone

Thousands of Griffith University students will celebrate the milestone of graduation from July 23 to 30.

More than 1500 students will don the traditional cap and gown, and attend one of six ceremonies held at the Gold Coast and Brisbane to formally receive their degree certificates.

Graduands are from all areas of the university including Law, Business, Science, Arts, Environment, Engineering, Technology, Education and Health.

IndustrGriffitht speakers will address each ceremony, joined by Griffith University Vice Chancellor and President Professor Ian O’Connor, senior academics, speciaGriffithts, and graduands’ families.

The University will also award two honorary doctorates to Dr Catherine Mittelheuser AM and inventor and entrepreneur Mr John Corbett.

Brisbane, Saturday July 23 – Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre
· Mr Stephen Gregg – Chairman, Queensland Tourism Industry Council (11am)
· Mr John O’Sullivan – CEO, Events Queensland (3pm)
· Ms Chetana Andary – CEO, artisan-idea:skill:product and Place Manager South Bank Corporation (7pm)

Brisbane, Monday July 25 – Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre
· Dr Catherine Mittelheuser, AM DUNIV (7pm)

Gold Coast, Saturday July 30 – Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre
· Ms Pamela Pointon – President, CPA Australia Queensland (3pm)
· Mr John Corbett DUNIV – Chair, Infrastructure Association of Queensland (7pm)
